The Best Teacher Supplies on Amazon (and How I Really Spend My Summers)

As a teacher, it can get a little tiring hearing the phrase, "It must be nice having the summers off."

And yes—it is nice.

I won't deny that sleeping past my 5:30 a.m. alarm is one of my favorite parts of summer. There is something wonderful about waking up at 8:00... or even 8:45 a.m. on occasion.

But despite what some people may think, my summers aren't spent watching soap operas, eating bonbons, and lounging around in pajamas all day.

Well... okay, sometimes I am in pajamas.

But I'm still working.

Like many teachers, I spend a good portion of my summer preparing for the upcoming school year. I may be doing it while watching HGTV and catching up on my favorite home renovation shows, but I'm still printing, laminating, cutting, organizing, planning, and prepping for a brand-new group of students.

And to do all of that, I need supplies.

Thankfully, Amazon Prime makes it easy. Click the image below to see my favorite teacher supplies

Every summer, I find myself ordering the essentials: cardstock, lamination pouches, storage containers, classroom organization supplies, and all those little items that somehow disappear throughout the school year.

One of my favorite classroom organization tools is the Sterilite Clip Box. I currently have dozens of them holding literacy centers, math activities, manipulatives, and seasonal resources. Over the years, they have held up incredibly well, and I always seem to find an excuse to order a few more.

I store mine in an old wooden mail sorter, which has become the perfect center organization system for my classroom.

At the end of every school year, I make a running list of supplies I need to restock before August arrives. This year, magnetic tape was at the top of my list. I use it constantly for displaying activities and center pieces on my whiteboard. Even laminated materials stay securely in place.

Another must-have? Sharpies.

I love having a variety of colors available, and after several years of heavy classroom use, many of mine had finally dried out. A fresh set was definitely needed.

I also included my favorite paper cutter below. I didn't purchase it this summer—I actually bought it last fall—but it's worth mentioning because it has become one of my most-used classroom tools. It took a little time to get used to the paper guide, but the cuts are precise, and the blade stays sharp.

And then there's my favorite deal of the summer...

These storage cases come in a six-pack and are perfect for organizing centers, task cards, and classroom materials. They're larger than the clip boxes and incredibly sturdy. I used similar cases back when I scrapbooked, and seeing this price has me seriously considering adding another set to my cart.

Teacher organization is a never-ending project, right?

I'll admit that online shopping can be dangerous when everything is just one click away, but the convenience is hard to beat. Between the fast shipping, competitive prices, and huge selection, Amazon has become one of my go-to places for classroom supplies.

Until then, don't work too hard.

As for me, I might finally head out to the pool... assuming my husband is finished mowing the lawn.

Hi Tiffani!
I hope you are able to enjoy your time off with your family! It (summer time)seems to go too fast. At this time I am getting ready for BTS soon in August! I have already purchased your homework fluency packets for letter ID, Number ID, sight words, sounds and non sense words. I have been following you through the years and have a couple of ?s to ask - Do you send home the letter ID papers for homework in a folder and keep them in the same folder? Also, for your classroom library, do you store your books by themes and what kind of container do you have your books in? I have been using the Dollar tree store bins and would like to change. Thank you again for your help! I still am looking for the handprint table material you used for book bags!
Take care and thanks,
Maryann
