Thankful Turkeys

My class has the job of decorating the office bulletin board this month.  I would have picked December, but it was already taken.  For some reason November was still available.  I knew I wanted to do something with turkeys, but it needed to be easy and it needed to involve writing.  Today we did the hard part, creating the turkeys.  There was a lot of cutting and some very specific placement of hands, feathers, hats and so forth.  My kids did great!!! Tomorrow we will be doing the writing portion.  They will write about what they are thankful for.  We discussed and brainstormed tray some things to be thankful for.  We talked about how although we are thankful for our Xbox an Play stations, we could live without them.  We ended with sharing out about something their mom does that they are thankful for.  I love my Little K-Kid kid who said I'm thankful my mom helps me with my homework.  My Little K-Kid has a huge language delay and a lot of speech issues amongst other things.  It just warmed my heart to hear him say this.

Today I am thankful we have a night custodian who will be sweeping up the million slivers of paper that didn't get picked up. Our rooms are cleaned every other night. We were pushing it to the last minute to finish.  We will pick up tomorrow morning, finish them, then decorate the office with them.  Here is what we've done so far. This is available in my TpT Store.
