Literacy Week Part 2

I can't believe it is already Wednesday- not sure where the week has gone- but I'm ready for Friday.
If you read my previous post you know we are having literacy week at my school.  We had some windows decorated, and some thematic days to be a little festive.  Today was wear green day and we had the author Jonathan London come and talk with the kids.  He shared his brand new book Froggy Gets a Doggie.  He was so energetic, patient and kind.  He signed well over 100 books for teachers and students.  I really liked that he involved the students when reading the books.  The kids couldn't quit talking about the assembly.  They were even giving him tons of new ideas for new books. My favorites were Froggy joins the Army and Froggy Goes to the Moon, oh and Froggy has a Baby...

After the assembly I showed him the cute Froggies we had made.  He asked if I wanted my picture in front of them with him. Ummm YES!!!!

Tomorrow is Spring Pictures- so we had to keep it tame- so it is just Crazy Sock day.  Friday is Crazy Hat day, where we'll be wearing our Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats.  You can see them in my previous post and get the template for them too.  Now, I'm ready to flop, flop, flop all the way to the couch, but instead I have to prepare for tomorrow nights Literacy Night!

Hi Tiffany!
I just found many of your incredible ideas on TPT!. I can't wait to purchase! You are so lucky to have the author visit you school. I looked through your blog and have questions about making the K DVD. Where did you get paper for the DVD covers and do you have this an editable copy on your TPT ? I would like to find out more about making the dvd. What program did you use? Looking forward to many more ideas from you!! Thanks!
