Counting Down and Being Thankful

Come this Friday I will be very thankful for 9 days of sleeping in, which translates to 6:30AM, drinking my coffee in my pajamas and getting caught up on household chores that have been severely neglected.      I will be thankful that assessments will be completed and I can get back to my small groups and interventions.  This week is all about independence.  My kids have to be able to work independently so I can finish the 1-to-1 assessments.  I have a few small group ones to complete in math and need to recheck sight words with a few kids.   Tuesday I am attending a math training on Everyday Math.  This is our math curriculum, but I wasn't able to attend the inservice last year.  I hope I can gain some knowledge about this math program that will make me like it.  I will admit that so far I'm not a fan of the book.  Do any of you use this curriculum?

Also this week- I hope- keeping fingers crossed to make vegetable soup with my class on Friday.  I will be asking parents to sign up for a vegetable then have the kids help to prepare it Friday morning. We will cook it in a crockpot and eat it after lunch.

And now for a peek at my week and a Freebie from my December No Prep Just Print Package.  I'd love to know what skills you will be working on in the next month as I prepare to make my January Pack.
