Back-to-School Classroom Caravan

It's that time when all of us are rushing about trying to get our classrooms set up.  This year I decided to document what my room looks like from beginning to end.  When I opened my door this year after the cleaning crew had been through, it was a huge, hot, mess.  After several days and nights, and help from a friend, it now looks like it is ready for children.

BEFORE

AFTER
I took down almost every bulletin board and changed my theme to red, white and black polka dots.  I made most of my accents, like the clip chart and sight word wall.  Other items were either purchased or downloaded for free.

Behavior Clip Chart
Big Sight Word Wall
Class Library
Visual Directions
Daily Lunch Count
 Math Focus Wall
Word Wall
Listening Center & Seat Crates
 Calendar/Morning Routine Wall
 Take Home Reader Station
 Personal Reader Shelf
 Writing Cneter
 Tables
Hop on our blog bus and share pictures from your room.

Love your room pictures. I have a question. Where did you get your magazine file holders that you use for their books? Are they plastic or cardboard? I've been searching for some, but they are quite costly :(

Thank you so much for your wonderful blog. I always wanted to send homework home but my thought was it was too much for such a young age. I can see how helpful homework can be. I plan to do this when I get my own kindergarten classroom. Thank you,
Jacque Lee
