My Summer "To Do" List

I don't know about you, but I have way too much to do this summer and I'm still 2 days away  from summer break.  I've already started thinking about what I need/want to do.  I've been creating all kinds of things for my new theme next year  I currently have a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom  room.  I'll keep my hanging letters and coconut tree, but will be adding lot's of red, white and black.  Yes, BLACK in kindergarten.  Being that I wear black almost every day, I thought my room should color coordinate with my wardrobe.  I'll be adding polka dots too.  To start off my room re-do I took this metal drawer thing that had been sponge painted over the original pepto bismol pink.

A few coats of red and voila.

the inside of the drawers were also pink.  As much as I wanted to spray them red, I didn't have time or enough paint.  Instead, I laminated large sheets of white paper then cut them to fit inside the bottom of the drawers.    Now they look clean and fresh and can be wiped out if needed.

here is the rest of my Summer "To Do: List

  1. New labels for all my drawers
  2. Table Group number signs (already started)
  3. Redo Word Wall- (already started)
  4. New library Bucket Labels- Made but need to print, laminate and attach
  5. Clip Chart- designed already- need to print, laminate
  6. Put up new border
  7. Make new homework Folders-Just need Walmart to get them in stock
  8. Finish my "Pick Me" Sticks
  9. Paint my new shelf red
  10. Re-upolster my teacher chairs
11. Redo my calendar wall- I want this clock

I know there is a ton more, almost forgot- I get to go to a 3 day training on Debbie Dillar;s book Math Workshop Stations- I'm super excited.  I implemented the book this year, and LOVED it, but now I can have some real training .  Another school in our district has an EISS Grant and their principal said I could tag along.  YAY!!!!!

Wow-the red is very eye-catching! I feel like I have a lot to do too and with teaching summer school-I'm not sure I'm going to get to much on my list.

Love the red drawers. Is that your teacher chair you recovered? If so, how did you do that? I love this idea and I want to do it too! I am having a black and white (little green and blue) in my K classroom. I just found your blog and I love it. I am your newest follower. I would love to have you stop by my blog sometime and check it out.
